| Website Last Updated: 03/25/2003 2:45:15 PM | International Industrial Organization ConferenceBoston, MassachusettsApril 4-5, 2003 The first annual International Industrial Organization Conference (IIOC), sponsored by the Industrial Organization Society and its affiliated journal, the Review of Industrial Organization, will be held April 4-5, on the campus of Northeastern University, located in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. The Program will run from 12:00 noon, Friday, April 4 until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5.
PROGRAMThe International Industrial Organization Conference will feature keynote presentations by Ariel Pakes (Harvard University) and Michael Riordan (Columbia University), and will include seventy sessions and panel discussions on all topics and from all perspectives of industrial organization. Click here for the conference program, or select it from the main menu.The Program Committee is chaired by Lars-Hendrik Röller, F.M. Scherer, and Christopher Snyder, and also includes Nancy Rose, John Scott and Xavier Vives. Local arrangements in Boston are being coordinated by Sara Fisher Ellison and John Kwoka (chair). Conference finance matters are being handled by Kenneth Boyer, Robert Feinberg (chair), and Sharon Oster. REGISTRATIONAnyone wishing to attend sessions of this conference MUST officially register for the conference. Authors/presenters of accepted papers should already be registered (if not, please do so now). The deadline for other attendees is March 10. We we will accept reservaton requests after March 10 on a space-available basis. The Registration Fee for this conference is $40 for current IOS Members, and $60 for Non-Members. We are also offering a combined registration/first year membership in the IOS for a discounted price of $80, for new IOS members. IOS members receive eight yearly issues of the Review of Industrial Organization and a 20% discount on books published by Kluwer. The student registration fee is $25, which includes IOS Membership. The Conference registration fee includes lunch on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5, 2003. All conference attendees are invited to a reception at Northeastern University on Friday, April 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (cash-bar). Please register using our fill-in form or the PDF version.ACCOMMODATIONS The Colonnade Hotel (120 Huntington Avenue, Boston) has been chosen as the official hotel for the IIOC. The Colonnade Hotel is conveniently located near the Northeastern University campus, site of the Conference. It is a 10 minute walk or 2 subway stops away from the NU campus. Conference participants must register for the Conference first, before making hotel reservations. Upon receipt of your registration, the registration office will contact you regarding hotel accommodations.OTHER EVENTSConference participants are invited to attend two special IIOC events. Join us on Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m. for a performance of the internationally acclaimed Blue Man Group. Tickets for this event will be $53 and must be purchased in advance. Also, for those who stay until Sunday, April 6, the IIOC will host a brunch at Brasserie Jo, a highly regarded restaurant located in The Colonnade Hotel. Tickets for this event are $20 ($6 for children under 12). You may sign up for these events on the enclosed registration form. Payment must accompany your reservations.CANCELLATION POLICYFull refund of any registration fees must have been made in writing prior to February 15, 2003. At this time, there will be NO refunds of fees.
